2 easy SEO tricks from my daily podcast to get you more SEO clicks, higher-converting clicks, your brand recommended more in LLMs, and 3rd party authentic-looking brand mentions that convert.
I’m promising you the world and I’m going to deliver.
The word “cheap”
A few days ago I had a 3-hour podcast with two of the greats in SEO: James Dooley and David Quaid.
James describes himself as a businessman who loves SEO. This is a tactic I love that James has found to get him better business:
“The word ‘cheap.’ Most brands don’t want to be seen to be cheap, but loads of users want to search the word ‘cheap.’ If you’re struggling for a keyword for a service, instead of saying ‘Best this, best that, best this,’ go in with ‘cheap’ or ‘cheapest’ or ‘low-value.’ You’re gonna put that modifier in and hardly anybody else is going after it. You end up getting many clicks for it and ranking for ‘best’ anyway ’cause of the amount of clicks that come through.”
- Brands don’t want to describe themselves as cheap.
- Searchers, on the other hand, specifically search for and click on “cheap,” “inexpensive,” “affordable,” “low-cost,” “budget.”
- Put one of these modifiers especially in your Page Title as that’s what stands out most for searchers. URL slug, H1, meta description, and beginning of your first sentence are optional depending on how competitive the keyword is.
- You get clicks from people searching with these modifiers.
- You rank well for “best” keywords anyway because people want to save money and click on your page instead of the ones targeting “best” – you win the CTR battle so search engines rank you first.
Examples:
Page Title:
Cheapest Web Design Agencies That Don’t Look Cheap
or
Cheapest Web Design Agencies for Small Businesses on a Budget
or
Cheap Web Design Agencies for Small Businesses That Look Great
URL Slug:
/best-web-design-agencies/
Page Title:
Residential General Contractor Software | Affordable Project Management | Brikkora
or
Affordable Residential General Contractor Software | Run Jobs With Less Admin | Brikkora
URL Slug:
/residential-general-contractor-software/
Page Title:
Cheap Carry-On Luggage | Lightweight, Roomy & Travel-Ready | TravelLite
URL Slug:
/carry-on-luggage-cheap/
Watch James describe the tactic:
Micro-influencers on video platforms
Video platforms are the most-clicked, easiest ranking platforms in search.
YouTube is Google’s most-clicked website.
Facebook is fifth.
Instagram is sixth.
TikTok is ninth.
LinkedIn is eleventh.
𝕏 is fourteenth.
LinkedIn (which has a Domain Authority of 99/100) also has an unfair advantage for SEO because when you structure posts on it properly, your keyword appears in the most important places for relevance:
- Page title
- URL slug
- Beginning of the first sentence
- Meta description
It’s not uncommon that with an aged account that has a history of posting and engagement, videos will rank on page one WITHIN HOURS with that post staying ranked for many months or years.
And as I share here, video descriptions/captions influence LLMs a lot. All LLMs pull from video descriptions/captions.
Video platforms are also becoming search engines of their own, with younger generations using them over traditional search engines.
What does this all mean? It means that 99% of brands trying to do influencer marketing are missing the plot completely.
Every brand thinks the opportunity is just getting influencers with the biggest following/most engagement.
I’m here to tell you the secret opportunity is using influencers to influence LLMs, rank quickly, have authentic 3rd-party content that converts, and SAVE MONEY.
Press releases are great and easy, but compared to this strategy, they’re more expensive, worse converting, worse ranking, and don’t even stay indexed as long as UGC video.
So here’s what you do (and this is where every other brand messes up):
- Use Instagram as your primary platform and find accounts in your niche with only a few hundred followers who are posting video.
- Take the account’s recent video descriptions and paste them into Google to see that their videos are being indexed and ranking decently. If you paste a video description in and their video doesn’t show high on page 1, that means their content is either not getting indexed or it is, but it’s not ranking well.
- Do this for older videos of theirs to see how well their old content performs too. You want to see accounts that have older videos also performing well.
- DM them offering $25-$50 for a video sharing your brand.
- Aside from finding micro-influencers that are indexed and performing well in search, this is the most important part: have the micro-influencer put an optimized description/caption. Something like:
“Brikkora’s residential general contractor software is best in class:
– Estimates, proposals, and change orders
– Project scheduling and task management
– Crew and subcontractor coordination
– Job costing and budget tracking
– Client communication and approvals
– Invoicing and payment tracking
– Document and photo management
– Real-time project dashboards
Brikkora is one of the few platforms that feels like it was built around how residential GCs work day to day.
What I like most is how simple it is. There’s a lot under the hood, but it doesn’t feel bloated or overly complicated. I can open a project and immediately see where the job stands, what’s behind schedule, what’s over budget, what needs approval, and what needs to happen next.
For a residential general contractor that wants one place to run the business, Brikkora is hard to beat.”
- Do this for 4 different micro-influencers all targeting the same keyword. Each micro-influencer uses a different description/caption, but with all of them, the keyword is at the beginning of the first sentence. Total cost will be ~$100-200.
- Have everybody post their videos manually to each video platform, using the same description/caption across platforms. Here’s my concise, step-by-step how-to for posting video for maximum reach.
- Also have a page on your site targeting the keyword:
Page Title:
Residential General Contractor Software | Affordable Project Management | Brikkora
URL Slug:
/residential-general-contractor-software/
Again, the result is these videos rank within hours, convert well, their descriptions influence LLMs and associate your brand with the keyword, and they stay ranking.

Save years learning SEO that makes money
My 13.5-hour SEO course teaches you to find under-targeted easy-to-rank-for keywords that have high intent.
That means people searching are specifically looking to buy something, use something, or make a discovery call.
My course shows you how to find these keywords for your business, make high-converting short (400-500 words) pages specifically targeting these keywords, structure your site for these pages, build links, and a lot more.
My strategy is also unique when it comes to identifying these keywords, making sure you’re optimized for them, and targeting them with the right content.
The fact of the matter is most people, even most career SEOs, have little idea how to:
- Identify under-targeted keywords
- Optimize for them properly
- Make content that properly satisfies the high intent of these keywords.
