Sora 2 just released and Iām nearly as amazed and obsessed with it as I was with ChatGPT when it first launched in December of 2022.

I believe that, similar to ChatGPT, Sora 2 is a fleeting opportunity for above average visibility.
Most people now can quickly spot ChatGPT writing, but that was not the case when it was released. Students turned in papers written entirely by ChatGPT and got Aās, marketers sent fully ChatGPT-written newsletters impressing their readers, I posted fully ChatGPT-written Reddit threads promoting my brand and had the threads go viralā¦
Of course, none of this would work now, but Q1 and Q2 of 2023ā¦ it worked great.
I suspect Sora 2 will be the same. So in this article, I will share:

My results with Sora 2
So far Iāve made 3 videos with Sora 2. The performance for all videos has been above average.

- This one was a flop, but my flops typically receive way less views than this, so the Sora 2 hook made even the flop perform above average.
How to get around some protections within Sora 2
First, Sora 2 works outside the United States with a VPN. Iām traveling through Europe and accessing Sora 2, without problems using NordVPN.
Second, when you do cameos with Sora 2 – using other peopleās looks in your videos – Sora 2 doesnāt let you download the videos. Iām using this Chrome extension to get around that. I have no affiliation with that extension; I use it to download my cameo videos for content. Works perfectly.
How Iām using Sora 2 for content
If you havenāt tried Sora 2, itās incredible how simple it is. Unlike other AI tools, you donāt need long complex prompts. Here are a few of mine:
One of my close friends is Head of Video at the New York Post. This is what he texted me about Sora 2:
Sora 2ās writing really is spectacular. Itās comedic and itās sophisticated. Itās certainly not flawless, but it often gets things right on the first try.
Itās also mind-numbingly easy to train the AI on your face. Takes literally one minute. You just follow the directions, āSay these numbersā¦ tilt your head this wayā¦ tilt your head that wayā¦ā then youāre done. And if you donāt like the output, you can retrain Sora 2 on your face whenever you want.
Right now Iām mostly using Sora 2 for hooks. Think of a good verbal hook, then use Sora 2 to put yourself in a more illustrative location.
āNobody knows this about Google,ā – great verbal hookā¦ but even better when said in the Google offices with the Google logo everywhere.
Or, like I did in a previous example, showing a ChatGPT SEO hack, with Sam Altman (who has his cameo open to everybody) in the hook.
How about the Sora watermark on the video? Nobody even notices! I had several people share with me they didnāt even notice. Insane.
Want easy views? Letās say youāre keeping a log of evergreen subject matter… Sora 2 for the hook, then rerecord the subject matter. You can do this MANY times with different cool Sora hooks before it gets boring.

Last thing that’s remarkable. You can give custom prompts for how you appear in cameos:
I just turned that off, but with it on, any video with me automatically had me talking about search engine optimization. My prompt for this video is ā@edwardsturm walking through hawaiiā but because of the custom instructions, I was relating the tide to search engine optimization.
So you can control how your brand appears in others’ videos.
Future predictions with Sora 2-type tech
Again, weāre in this sweet spot in which this content is still not widely-adopted, making it stand out.
I believe Meta, with all its face data and social graph data, will roll out a feature like this to Instagram and it will dominate Sora 2.
The bad news here is everybody will try it and this AI video content will get a lot more stale.
The good news is with Sora 2, weāll already have a lot of practice knowing what works, what doesnāt, and prompts to use. But I think a Meta rollout of this tech is on the horizon.
So right now Sora 2 is a crazy opportunity to get your brand in front of more eyeballs and it is not yet played out. I hope youāll try it.
