5 Social Media Tricks I Learned at an 𝕏/xAI/SpaceX Creator Event

I was invited to an 𝕏/xAI/SpaceX creator event here in NYC this past Thursday. This article is five things I learned.

Get attention from high status people on 𝕏

This was from Madison Campbell who spoke live.

β€œIf you want a refund for something or support really fast, put out a complaining tweet, tag the company and/or the CEO, then buy a $25 boost for the tweet. Fastest support you’ll ever get.”

But the same thing applies to getting the attention of an investor, journalist, influencer, or decision-maker.

This trick is a quick way to make your pitch noticed.

𝕏 is doubling down on vertical videos

𝕏 is paying people $3,000 if they can post vertical videos for 15 out of 30 days: https://help.x.com/en/using-x/video-kickstart-bonus

In 𝕏, go to Creator Studio, then Video Kickstart Bonus to enable it.

My thought was – if 𝕏 cares this much about getting more quality video content, they may prioritize it in their algorithms so it gets more views (regardless of being in the Video Kickstart Bonus program or not).

My first video was posted before joining the program. It did above-average for my content (so you don’t need to be in the program for video content to do well on 𝕏).

What I’m doing:

For years I’ve been advocating posting vertical videos and keeping an automatic Google Drive backup of your videos through this (this is what I do).

I just sorted my TikTok by most-viewed. I’m posting videos from this to 𝕏. Five minutes ago I posted one that originally went viral in Summer 2024 – I downloaded the high quality version with clean metadata from my Google Drive backup.

The one I posted before joining the program also originally went viral in 2024.

So cross-posting old high-performing videos of yours to 𝕏 could get you extra engagement before more people start doing it.

Why creators love Instagram’s Trial Reels

For a while I heard β€œInstagram Trial Reels are a hack. Post old content to Instagram Trial Reels and it will go viral again.”

But I never had that experience – all my videos REALLY underperformed with Instagram Trial Reels.

However, at the event I met a faceless creator with 750,000 Instagram followers. He told me his secret:

β€œIf you upload a video with different music, Instagram sees it as a different video. Trial Reels shows it to non-followers only. I wait at least three weeks from date of first upload. Then I reupload my viral videos with different music. Works amazing.”

I tried this two days ago with a video that originally was posted on Instagram 5 weeks ago. I put in some royalty-free music through Descript’s music library (the original had no music). The video through Trial Reels is up to 35,000 views, which is decent considering when I tried reposting content on Trial Reels without changing music, I’d only get a few hundred views.

How one of the top AI influencers uses Meta’s Muse AI

I spent most of the night hanging out with one of the top influencers in AI.

I shared with him how I know the videos of mine that caused big people on Instagram to follow me (if somebody follows you on Instagram for a particular video, Instagram shows you who and which video).

He thought this was cool, opened Muse AI on his phone at dinner, and told Muse this: “Go to my Instagram history. Find followers of mine who have over 100,000 followers of their own and prioritize ones with over 1,000,000 followers. Find the videos of mine they followed me for and put it all into a spreadsheet for me to look at.”

Muse can create CSVs for you to go into and play with, and it has access to Meta’s data.

A few insights seeing this:

  • I haven’t tried this myself yet, but there’s so much potential here with using Muse for Instagram and Facebook data. You can find what’s working, what’s not, common comments on your niche to see what people care about, hook comparisons, follows per view per video, a lot more. Really excited about this.
  • I thought it was cool how much he cared about going upstream – learning what the biggest accounts, despite being a minority of his followers, care about.
    • He was inspired because I told him how one of the biggest business influencers followed me for a video that actually FLOPPED. It was a video last year about HubSpot’s collapsing SEO. It only got 12,000 views, which is very little for me – but this video led to one of the most recognizable business Instagrams following me.
      • Your most important content may not actually be your highest-performing content.

I also shared with this AI influencer how videos do way better when I have NYC views in the background. I commonly take my laptop to NYC rooftops, or parks with skyline views, to record content. This influencer has a great view from his new NYC apartment, but didn’t think to use it for videos. He used to live in Austin and had a great view. He said even in Austin, with a skyline that isn’t universally recognizable, just the high-up views made his content do better.

If you have access to nice views for videos, no matter where you are, use it.

How this AI influencer uses Grok Bot

The 𝕏/xAI/SpaceX event was heavily promoting Grok Bot, xAI’s agent platform. It uses multiple agents that talk to each other to execute tasks.

I shared with him how I set up the following Grok automation:

  • Whenever I read on video a viral tweet in my niche – the video itself goes viral because I’m using validated content (good 𝕏 performance shows people care). Here’s an example.
  • I have a skill that looks through 𝕏 for recent high-performing content about SEO and digital marketing. The content either:
    • Gets a lot more views than the account posting has followers.
    • If it’s a big account, the post gets way more views than the account’s average.
  • This skill gets triggered every morning at 8 AM. The results are emailed to me:
My Gmail inbox showing daily Grok automation emails highlighting viral 𝕏 posts about SEO and digital marketing, including Google updates, AI search, and backlinks, to turn into video content.

I shared how this automation has worked very well for me.

Just like with Muse, this AI influencer just spoke it to Grok Bot on his phone. Took him 30 seconds to explain it. His agents went and set up this automation so he now gets notified of viral AI content on 𝕏 which he can use for videos.

For more on Grok Bot, here’s how SEO legend, Charles Floate, uses it for parasite SEO.

Hopefully you enjoyed this week’s article and try some of these things over the next week!

Save years learning SEO that makes money

I just want to remind you it is a great time to be alive, despite all the chaos in the news.

From anywhere in the world, you can set up an SEO funnel targeting people who want to buy – people who know what they want, but don’t know the brand that will give them what they want (that’s your brand).

I learned this method of SEO while living in a bunch of different countries in Europe 7 years ago – but despite being in Europe, most of my customers were coming from the United States.

And what’s crazy is this method of SEO is so stable, the bottom-of-funnel SEO landing pages I put up 7 years ago are still ranking #1 for their high-intent keywords, despite me not having edited the pages since.

High-purchase-intent keywords tend to be undertargeted by competitors because they have less volume – just because there’s naturally less people ready to buy.

But this customer of Compact Keywords, my SEO course, said it well:

β€œMy father gets like 5 clicks a week, but 3 of those clicks call him, and he takes 1 to the bank :-)”

Compact Keywords shows you how to find these high-intent searches, target them with SEO landing pages made to convert, structure your site for these pages, build links, examples in every niche, and a lot more.

You’re not optimizing for vanity volume – you’re optimizing for sales and an SEO moat.
