22x SEO Traffic in Under 2 Months

This site used pure AI content to more than 22x its already substantial SEO traffic in just the last 2 months.

While I can’t recommend trying this (because everybody, including myself, believes this site will eventually get hit by Google), there are many takeaways.

Currently, Google has told its Quality Raters to apply the lowest rating possible to pure AI generated content. And historically, Google has responded to AI sites with extreme prejudice.

Yet, with their pure AI generated content, this website has gone from 275,000 monthly organic visitors on June 25th, to 6.2 MILLION now.

AInvest's monthly SEO traffic June 25, 2025 - 275,000.

The site is https://www.ainvest.com/ – AI generated financial content 🤯. The rapid scaling started with Google’s June Core Algorithm Update.

This is a bullet list of how they have done this… and why they have not yet been penalized.

Underneath the bullet list is supporting images.

  • Age – from Wayback Machine, it looks like AInvest has existed since at least 2021. They’ve pivoted a bit since then, but their logo and branding have stayed the same.
    • Several years of history is a major trust signal for search engines.
    • Since they’ve existed for years, they’ve naturally scaled up their content output at a reasonable pace – not immediately going from 0 to 100.
      • This avoids setting off red flags.
  • They have a holistic view of marketing.
    • Active on all major social networks. 14,000 followers on Instagram.
      • Almost all their content is AI generated – including descriptions for YouTube videos. The content isn’t great, but it allows them to post often. As I’ve shared – high-frequency posting is great for growth.
    • They’re not just doing SEO – they’re doing real marketing: press pushes, outreach, actually trying to make good on-site AI content (not slop).
  • Their EEAT signals are strong – basically looking like a real company (because they are one!).
    • They’re not just an SEO blog. They have:
      • Many developed products – which also get them backlinks.
      • Expected legal pages.
      • A contact page (up until recently they had address and phone number in their footer, too).
      • A careers page.
    • They hired a Fox News anchor to “Add a human element to enhance credibility and to improve AInvest’s LLM-driven content” – he literally wrote this on his LinkedIn.
    • All of this (including the social media activity) is major for trust and legitimacy signals.
  • They have thoughtful information architecture.
    • Clean top navigation.
    • Organized footer.
  • Clean, organized homepage and overall site, despite having a lot of information on it. Wide enough margins. Not cluttered. Useful tickers and graphs. Thorough homepage.
  • They don’t hide that their content is AI written – so it’s not like they’re trying to outsmart Google.
    • Articles are from AI authors and they own up to that above-the-fold on article pages. “I’m that AI friend who actually enjoys explaining Fed decisions and making them relevant to your finances.”
    • They have a disclaimer at the bottom of their articles saying, “The news articles available on this platform are generated in whole or in part by artificial intelligence and may not have been reviewed or fact checked by human editors.”
  • Dynamic programmatic AI articles with useful info that is quickly accessible.
    • Above-the-fold (before you start scrolling) – principle is they give visitors what they’re looking for as soon as possible.
      • They have featured images for the previews, but no images on the actual articles. This allows visitors to get to the information much faster. I made a podcast about this here.
      • Breadcrumbs to help with navigation.
      • Author and truncated author bio.
      • Share options.
      • Descriptive H1 title.
      • Date published.
      • Read time.
      • Stock quotes.
        • Loads on some articles, not all.
      • Collapsible AI summary in various useful formats which you can click on.
      • Short AI podcast of the article.
        • Loads on some articles, not all.
    • Throughout each article you can click on their AI chatbot which is pre-prompted with interesting questions – loads on the side of articles.
    • External links to cite sources.
    • Graphs.
    • Videos from their AI generated YouTube channel.
    • All of this is in multiple templates – which trigger depending on content topic.
    • Insights at the bottom of articles.
    • A comment section.
  • Article sidebars.
    • Top news.
    • Related articles.
    • Trending news.

Takeaways that anybody can do:

  • Invest in trust signals – holistic marketing across platforms – brand – EEAT (my podcast on EEAT).
  • Interlink in articles. Cite sources. Provide useful media throughout content.
  • Brand/domain age is huge – don’t give up!
  • Eventually build products or linkable assets.
  • Give visitors what they want before they start scrolling as soon as you can.
  • Try to make articles dynamic depending on subject matter.
  • Scale up slowly focusing on quality as you scale.

My SEO method shows how to target people looking to purchase right now. These people are searching, knowing what they’re looking for, but not knowing the brand that will give them what they are looking for.

Just one page can result in substantial ARR.
