7M Views, Then 11M on the Same Idea: How to Recycle Viral Topics

I just want to remind you, you don’t ever have to run out of ideas.

I frequently make many videos on the same viral subject matter – and you should too.

I made this in 15 minutes on the same Gmail trick I’ve made videos on many times: https://www.instagram.com/p/DSgVdLkiJDJ/ – 7 million views

Then, just 3 months later: https://www.instagram.com/p/DXs4k6nD3V6/ – 11 million views – also caused my second best day for Compact Keywords sales, despite saying nothing about SEO (useful subject matter builds a lot of trust).

Again, I’ve made videos about this Gmail trick MANY times in the past – since 2024, when I first discovered the trick. It always does well.

First time I made a video on manipulating Google Maps rankings with driving directions: https://www.instagram.com/p/DEX60-nifgC/ – 886,000 views

Another on the same thing: https://www.instagram.com/insights/media/3660817681202519453/ – 1.6 million views

Another on the same thing only 3 weeks later: https://www.instagram.com/p/DMMSJ85tcjP/ – 1.5 million views

Another on the same thing 7 weeks later: https://www.instagram.com/p/DORM5NEjbRh/ – 711,000

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I’ve made videos dozens of times on how to see ChatGPT’s searches. Here are just two examples:
https://www.instagram.com/p/DSQnlsPDChs/ – 1.8 million views
https://www.instagram.com/p/DPW5dIxDMmR/ – 700,000 views

I’ve also made many videos about the guy who unexpectedly bought google.com for $12:
https://www.instagram.com/p/C_v6bJEiuDI/ – 2 million views
https://www.instagram.com/p/DAwXgDKClux/ – 528,000 views

What you should do is clear

1. Take the same viral subject matter and mix it up with:

  • A new hook.
  • New framing.
  • New examples.
  • Or just rerecord the exact same thing that worked before – and people will still like it, find it useful, and value your brand more.

2. If you post videos on Instagram or TikTok, sort by most popular. Make new videos on things that have already done well.

Instagram Reels profile sorted by Most viewed, showing top videos with 11.1M, 7.1M, and 7M views to identify proven viral topics worth recycling.

3. Do #2 for yourself + other creators in your niche and track everything in a spreadsheet: Hook, Topic, URL, Benefits named, Topic category. Don’t use an AI for this – the act of writing it yourself trains your brain on what is working in your niche. Remember, you can make content about the same exact subject matter that went viral for somebody else.

Infinite subject matter.

One more trick - especially for those who don’t have their own viral content to share

This is something I haven’t shared with a lot of people, and I certainly haven’t gone around publicly shouting it, but it works obnoxiously well.

If something in your niche is going viral on 𝕏, and you simply read the 𝕏 post, it will go viral again on video (just make sure to give credit 🙂).

I made the most viewed video in the world on the Silicon Valley Bank collapse doing this: https://www.tiktok.com/@build_in_public/video/7209373596555201798

– I’ve since reposted this video a bunch of times and of course it’s gone viral again.
– Also, for people saying social media is too geography-dependent, I posted that video while living in Warsaw, and it still went viral globally.

More examples:

https://www.tiktok.com/@build_in_public/video/7318163330546273569 – 655,000 views

https://www.instagram.com/p/C1ePdbji33q/ – 363,000 views

https://www.instagram.com/p/DAEewEFs-lp/ – 2.8 million views

I just set up a skill and automation on 𝕏’s Grok and a scheduled action on Gemini to find daily 𝕏 posts in my niche that are over 100,000 views. I set this up only an hour ago, so we’ll see if it pays off – but it’s extremely easy to set up yourself if you want to try too.

Update: Grok skill + automation worked great – I recommend you try it. Gemini failed hilariously: https://x.com/edwardeachday/status/2091817392372400392

Do SEO that makes you money

If you like the step-by-step advice I give in my articles, my SEO course is even more tactical.

It’s focused specifically on doing SEO at the bottom of the funnel, where there is the most sales intent.

People are specifically searching for what you sell.

Compact Keywords is my 13.5-hour course showing how to do SEO that gets:

  • Paying customers
  • Users
  • Warm leads calling you on the phone

How to find the searches people are doing, make SEO landing pages that convert (not low-converting blog posts), structure your site for these pages, build links, do an SEO technical audit, and a lot more.

Here’s what James Dooley, a legendary SEO, has said about Compact Keywords (46:39 timestamp):
