Why Marketers Love TikTok

This TikTok video brought 3,100 users to our AI experiment in a single day.

The video only has 67,000 views.

Crazy conversion rate.

The video was #2 of three videos I made in rapid succession – all within 75 minutes – all about the same AI experiment.

Video one got 2,000 views.

Video three also got 2,000 views.

Video two, the winning video, got 67,000 views.

Rather than give the abstract reasons for why video two won out (I already do that here), there are other lessons I want to focus on.

Here they are. And this is why marketers love TikTok:

  • Like I said, TikTok can give crazy high conversion rates.
  • It doesn’t take a lot of time to make short-form mobile videos. I made THREE videos in 75 minutes. In fact – here’s a video I made in 13 minutes, which got 1.8 million views. Here’s one I made in under a minute, with 2.3 million views.
  • If you make non-entertaining videos, nobody will see them. People don’t see your failures, just your successes (unless your failure is entertaining). You have nothing to lose except time. And like I said, it doesn’t take much time.

TikTok is a great growth channel and many don’t know just how easy and anonymous it can be.

So what I want to leave you with is.

It really doesn’t take long.

And. When you make a bad video, nobody will know. When you make a good one, people will.

BTW – for those wondering how I made those videos so fast:

  • I shot and edited them all within the TikTok app, which has music and transcriptions built in.
  • I never tried CapCut, though I’m sure it’s good.
  • Now, I use a tool called Descript, which has a bunch of AI editing automations that save me even more time.
