Nothing in the World Can Take the Place of Persistence

Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.

That was originally from United States President Calvin Coolidge, but is the favorite quote of Ray Kroc, the founder of McDonald’s.

It reminds me of something I love from James Clear:

If you get one percent better each day for one year, you’ll end up thirty-seven times better by the time you’re done.

Calvin Coolidge states his love of persistence and James Clear explains exactly how it is important.

Most people underestimate what they can achieve with one year’s effort.

I’m eager to find out myself. This is why since November first, last year, I’ve made at least one video a day.

I’m having fun seeing what happens.
